Hi John,

Teachers have lesson plans for the exciting moments when our kids learn how to spell a new word and master a new math skill.

But we also have a lesson plan that we hope we never have to use: the one that identifies the quickest route to the exit, the safest corner to hide a classroom of children, and directives on what could be the worst day.

This year, our resolution is urgent: ensure that second plan is never put into action.

We know that two-thirds of school shootings could’ve been prevented with a simple gun lock . The solution isn't hardening schools like prisons; it’s ensuring that a firearm never makes it into the wrong hands in the first place.

That’s why we’re leading the charge with Project Lockdown. We aren't waiting for the next tragedy to react. We are resolving to:

* Empower educators to lead the conversation with parents about secure storage.
* Normalize locking up firearms as a standard safety habit, just like wearing a seatbelt.
* Equip school communities with the toolkits they need to prevent violence at the source in homes.

Will you support our resolution for prevention today? An investment of any amount helps us amplify our message. [[link removed]]
