As we welcome in a new year at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we reflect back on our organization’s accomplishments over the past year, and the impact we have made in our mission. The work of suicide prevention presents unique challenges –– but thanks to our staff, and our dedicated and determined volunteers, donors, and partners, we are proud of how we continue to show up for everyone impacted by this leading cause of death.

Our 2025 Annual Report provides readers a glimpse of the work we’ve done nationally, and through our hard-working network of local chapters across the country. The theme of this year’s report is The Power of Community, which reflects our nationwide network of impassioned people who learn together, heal together, laugh together, and cry together, strengthened by our shared dedication to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. In addition to learning about the amazing strides we’ve made through research, advocacy, education, loss support, public awareness campaigns, the Out of the Darkness Walks, and more, you’ll read inspiring Volunteer Spotlight Stories, showing how people have transformed difficult experiences into shared purpose.

We couldn’t accomplish all we do without your support. We encourage you to read and share our Annual Report with others, so that we can continue, together, to help create a world without suicide.
