If you care about cosmetics ingredients, you need to be aware of what is happening in California.

Last month, the California Assembly passed the Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act [[link removed]] by a bipartisan vote of 54-0. The bill bans 12 of the most toxic chemicals used in cosmetics sold in California, including mercury, formaldehyde, parabens, phthalates and PFAS chemicals.

The bill now needs to pass in the state Senate and then be signed into law by Gov. Newsom. If that happens, it could have huge implications for cosmetics safety, not just in California but in the rest of the U.S., too.
