Friends, when I clerked for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, she taught me through her words and actions about advocating for others.

Justice Ginsburg inspired me to always fight injustice, stand up for our freedoms, and promote equality and justice for all. And as we face unprecedented threats to these values, I think often of how she would respond to them and how she would want me to.

Justice Ginsburg taught us to fight for what we believe in — and do it in a way that others will join us. That’s my mission as I run to be your next governor. When I see the Supreme Court being asked, “if you're born here in the US, are you really a citizen?”, I know Justice Ginsburg would fight passionately against this attempt to claw back the 14th Amendment protections our nation established over a century ago.

I will always fight back against lawless attempts to strip Americans of their citizenship.

When Roe v. Wade was overturned back in 2022 with the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, I recalled my mentor and knew how appalled Justice Ginsburg would have been.

I will always defend Coloradans’ right to abortion access and reproductive freedom.

When the Supreme Court stands by its atrocious Citizens United decision, which RBG called the Court’s worst recent decision, I know that we cannot just wait idly by.

I will always fight for a political system that represents people, not corporations and the wealthy few — and that’s why I am championing a proposal to prevent corporations from donating to Colorado campaigns.

And when we witness the Bully-in-Chief violating the rule of law in so many other ways — whether he’s coming after Colorado for our gold-standard election system, bypassing Congress to set tariffs that cause chaos for Colorado businesses and families, or sending ICE to spread terror in our communities — I know RBG would demand that we rise to the occasion. I will never give in to this administration’s lawless bullying without putting up a fight.
