Now that you're awake, how do you learn real civics?

John --

Over the last decade, we have seen a major awakening in folks who used to be completely apathetic to politics. But now that people are waking up, how do they learn the civics they need to create real and positive change?

As we heard in this months Victory Report (exclusively for members of our Founder's Legacy Society), once you decide to get involved, you will find a system of bureaucracy that has long been in place.

  • A system that allows the petty tyrants to get around the protections for individual rights.
  • A system to get around the votes and directions from the people they represent.
  • A system designed to turn them from public servants into our public masters.

It can be overwhelming and daunting to step into this arena after having not paid any attention to it. It can be a steep learning curve at first with some mistakes made along the way. But what is important to understand is, things don't change for the better unless we get involved!

When the Founding Fathers took on the British government, they faced opposition and political tricks at every step. They faced tyrants large and petty at every turn. It is estimated that only about three percent of the population here drove the American Revolution through to success. But in spite of how few they were, the Founders continued to study and teach proper civics, and continued to challenge the wrongs at every level, until they succeeded in Liberty.

How do we learn about what is going on and the processes being used to make it happen?

The first step is to attend local government meetings and see what is going on. Then start asking questions and wade right in.

  • Ask your public servants about what they are doing.
  • Ask groups that specialize in exposing government behavior where to look for information locally.
  • Find others in your area who are interested in restoring good government and compare notes.
  • Ask for anything in writing on local government rules and procedures from your local officers or their solicitor.

It only takes one person to make the difference in your area. But the more people who gather together and get organized to bring change the easier and more effective it is. If no one else is standing against abusive government in your area, be the first. But whether there are few or many, get organized. The Constitution Party provides a great vehicle under which to organize.

Together we can make 2026 the Tipping Point where America returns to the Fundamental Principles of Liberty and Self-governance that made it great.
