Texas Democrats are ready to head to the polls in droves. It’s GOTV season again, y’all!
We’ve got two big fat deadlines coming up:
January 31 is our special election to flip a seat blue and send Taylor Rehmet to the State Senate. And just after that, February 2 is the last day to register to vote in the March 3 primary!
I know. That’s a lot of dates. Trust me, my head is spinning too with how busy these usually slower winter months are about to be. But this is a GREAT time to make progress for Texas Dems, and that’s why we need your help with the resources to manage all the work we’ve got coming up. Can you join us and chip in?
Let me explain. You might hear other folks like me toss around the term GOTV. Now, what does that even mean? It stands for Get Out The Vote, and it’s a period of time that holds a special place in any political organizer’s heart, including mine. It’s a special, concerted effort by our entire team to accomplish 3 simple tasks:
- Register as many voters as possible.
- Talk to as many voters as possible about their plans to vote.
- Confirm everyone knows their rights at the ballot box.
In order to make this happen at scale, I’m looking to send another $4,500 to our organizing department so Katy and the full organizing team can knock more doors, make more calls, deploy more digital ads about voting rights and print more materials in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Arabic, and yes English, so everyone has the information they need to vote.
Your $25 contribution will help someone become a Texas voter this election: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/tdp_janmm#GOTV
LFG, we have less than 2 weeks left!
