Fellow Conservative,
“Rioting” no longer describes what is happening on our streets—no, our great cities are under siege.
Nowhere is this more clear than the striking photos and videos that came out of Portland this week. For over 50 days, the Leftist mob has gathered night after night to spread fear, intimidate dissenters, and attack personal and Federal property.
The Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse has been ground zero for their lawlessness. Protesting is not leaving graffiti, starting fires, and throwing bricks. This is not how democracy works.

The real story is getting buried by the mainstream media. But there are good journalists out there doing the work to document the chaos and violence.

The Left isn’t trying to fix America—they are trying to cancel her.
Whether it be The New York Times' “1619 Project <[link removed]>” or the mobs tearing down statues of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, it’s clear that Liberals want to erase our history so we forget what America stands for.
But grassroots conservatives are fighting for America—and some of our elected leaders are too. To expose the Left’s blatant hypocrisy, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) introduced legislation banning the Democratic party from Congress <[link removed]> and requiring them to change their name.
Why? Because according to Gohmert, "A great portion of the history of the Democratic Party is filled with racism and hatred. To avoid triggering innocent bystanders by the racist past of the Democratic Party, I would suggest they change their name. That is the standard to which they are holding everyone else, so the name change needs to occur."
It will take more than a resolution to preserve America. But winning on the policy and messaging fights is an important part of shaping our society.
The other part is engaged citizens making a difference. And there is no better place to do that than at the ballot box. If you are not registered to vote, please register today. <[link removed]>
Happening on the Hill
Russell Vought Confirmed by Senate—On Tuesday, Heritage Action alum Russell Vought was confirmed as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget <[link removed]>. Vought has been fighting for the American people for over two decades. He is a true public servant and an example to many conservatives. Congratulations, Director Vought!
House Passes “Minibus Bill”—Congress is in the process of appropriating federal dollars for Fiscal Year 2021 which begins on October 1, 2020. By a vote of 224-189, the House passed H.R. 7608 on Friday to fund State, Foreign Operations, Agriculture, and several other departments. Speaker Pelosi’s bill is brimming with overspending and ideological overreach <[link removed]>—it’s so bad that 7 Democrats joined with Republicans in voting against it.
Senate passes National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)—Last Saturday, we put out a call to action, asking you to contact your Senators to keep the Left’s transgender policy agenda out of our military. We are happy to report that your calls this week had a real impact, and the Senate passed the NDAA without Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s (D-N.Y.) “woke” amendment. The amendment was steeped in LGBTQ politics and presented an increased risk of security to both those suffering from gender dysphoria and fellow service members. Thank you to all who called—this is a real policy win for conservatives!
Take Action
Congress is currently debating a fourth coronavirus relief package and liberals are using it as an opportunity to advance their agenda. For some examples, just look at what House Democrats passed in an earlier bill (which Senate Republicans rightly rejected):
- $915 billion in bailouts for state and local governments.
- Interfering with states’ election rights by requiring states to adopt vote-by-mail and undermining voter ID standards.
- Stimulus payments for illegal immigrants.
- $50 million for environmental justice grants.
- An extension of the weekly $600 bonus Unemployment Insurance subsidy until January 2021.
Liberals’ most offensive ask might also be their most expensive one—a bailout for financially mismanaged states like Illinois, New York, and California. It’s unjust to force the taxpayers of other states to pay for the reckless spending of these bankrupt Liberal utopias.
How can you ensure that only responsible relief legislation gets passed through Congress?
TAKE ACTION! On Monday, call your representative and senators <[link removed]>!

Thank you for staying engaged and helping hold Congress accountable. We repeatedly hear from conservative Members of Congress how important your calls and other efforts are. Keep up the great work!
