In the last few days, maybe you’ve gotten an email that starts like this:

Is there ANYTHING we can say to get you to contribute?

To pull back the curtain on how online fundraising works, the reason so many campaigns and organizations use this phrase is because it’s effective for raising money (we’ve even seen that ourselves).

But in this moment — with so much going on and so many valuable causes to give to — we know that it is not enough to just ask for your contribution. There is probably not one magic thing we can say. We have to earn your trust and support, every single day.

We take that responsibility seriously. So if you choose to support the DNC, here is exactly what your donation helps us do:

Register new voters. We just launched a first-of-its-kind partisan voter registration push focused on winning back young people. This year, we’ll work to register hundreds of thousands of new Democrats and train the next generation of organizers to do it.

Invest in every single state party. Every month, we invest $1 million across all of our Democratic state parties to ensure Democrats have the support they need to show up and compete everywhere.

Allocate resources to the place they’re needed most. The DNC is the organization best positioned to invest in the races where our support can make the biggest difference. And with so many elections this year, that job is more important than ever.

As you can imagine, all of this takes a HUGE amount of resources. It’s our team’s job to raise the money that makes it possible.
