| Fellow American, My name is Josh Cortez, and I’m running to represent Texas’s 35th Congressional District in the United States Congress. This decision wasn’t made lightly. For me, it’s about home. It’s about family. It’s about Conservative values. My family has called Texas home for over 250 years — going back to 1773, when my ancestors settled in Texas as Spanish land grantees. Now, I’m stepping forward to serve this region that gave so much to my family and me. I believe South Texas deserves a leader who never forgets where they came from, stands with President Trump on our border — and who always puts the people of this district first. The stakes in this race could not be higher. TX-35 is one of the most hotly contested seats in America and it’s a top pickup opportunity for the America First movement. This district was written off for years as a guaranteed blue seat — but that’s changed. In 2024, President Trump carried this whole district by five points after losing it in previous elections. This proves that South Texas is Trump country now. Families are rejecting the empty promises of woke radical liberal politicians. They are demanding new leadership that reflects our values — faith, freedom, hard work, and opportunity. This is our window to finish what we started — to FLIP TX-35, secure a lasting conservative majority for Texas, and bring a new generation of leadership to Congress. Democrats are going to come after me with everything they have. This seat is critical to their path to power, and they’ll flood it with outside blue state money from woke D.C. special interests who don’t have the slightest clue about Texans and our values.
