I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Washington state. I just
delivered my State of the State address, [ [link removed] ]which you can watch here.

Last month, we had historic flooding that caused tremendous damage and
hardship to thousands.

After devastating flooding in 2007, then Governor Chris Gregoire said, “I
am reminded time and time again of the tremendous heart and spirit of
Washingtonians.”

I’ve seen this heart and spirit firsthand. It is because of that spirit
that I’m proud to report:

* We have the ninth largest economy in the nation.
* We had the largest increase in the country in requests to form new
businesses.
* We have a triple AAA bond rating.

And our state continues to grow.

As an American, I never thought I would see federal agents in masks
driving in unmarked cars and picking people up off the streets. I am angry
about this, and many of you are as well.

We need to continue building on our strength as a community and fight
back. We need to turn our anger into action.

Legislation is making its way to my desk to prohibit law enforcement
officers from wearing masks and requires identifying information to be
clearly displayed on their uniform. I look forward to signing it into law.

We are also coming together to make life more affordable for
Washingtonians.

That’s why I’ve proposed a Millionaires’ Tax. We must use the gains from
the Millionaires' Tax to return money directly to working families and
small business owners who have been hit hard by the affordability crisis.

I look forward to working with the legislators this session to continue
fighting for the future that Washington state deserves.
