Hi John, I just finished delivering the State of the State address, and I wanted to take a moment to reiterate what’s driving our work and what we’ve delivered for Rhode Island families.
Rhode Island works because working people show up every day. That’s always been true, and it’s what guides me as Governor.
Together, we’ve delivered real progress. We raised the minimum wage. We put $40 million back in families’ pockets through a child tax rebate. We made college more affordable by making the RI Promise permanent at CCRI and expanding the Hope Scholarship at RIC. And we’ve added more than 36,000 private-sector jobs across Rhode Island.
That progress matters, but I know rising costs are still putting pressure on working families, especially when it comes to energy, health care, and everyday expenses.
That’s why this year I’m fighting for an Affordability for All agenda that will put $200 million back in Rhode Islanders’ pockets, including cutting energy costs, rolling back the gas tax, eliminating the tax on Social Security, and creating Rhode Island’s first permanent Child Tax Credit.
This work doesn’t happen on its own. It takes steady leadership and strong grassroots support.
If you believe Rhode Island deserves leaders who fight for working people and deliver results, will you chip in $10 today to help us keep going?
