What I’m doing: I am forcefully opposing any attempt to turn a warehouse in Chester into a large-scale ICE detention facility. Local leaders were not consulted, the community was kept in the dark, and the idea that human beings should be processed “like Amazon Prime” is disgusting and un-American. I have made it clear that ICE cannot move forward behind closed doors and expect our community to accept it. I am standing with local officials and residents to block this proposal

What you can do: Stay informed and speak out. Attend local meetings, support your town leaders, and make your opposition known. If you hear new information about this proposal, share it. When our community stands together and refuses to be silent, we can stop harmful projects before they take root.

What I’m doing: I delivered $3.8 million in new federal funding to fire departments across Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster counties to strengthen emergency response and keep our firefighters safe. This funding, secured through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters and SAFER programs, will support new equipment, expanded training, and additional staffing where it is needed most. These are landmark investments in Hudson Valley community safety. Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day, and they deserve the tools, training, and staffing required to do their jobs safely and effectively. I am proud to work directly with local departments to bring these federal dollars home.

What you can do: Thank your local firefighters and stay engaged with your department’s needs. If you see outdated equipment or understaffing in your community, speak up. Continued advocacy is how we make sure first responders get the resources they deserve. When we invest in our firefighters, we invest in the safety of every family in New York.

What I’m doing: As an Iraq War veteran and a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am speaking out forcefully against the Trump administration’s illegal and reckless military action in Venezuela. I went on CNN and called out the administration’s justification for this operation as chickenhawk BS. The president briefing Big Oil executives about Venezuela while cutting Congress out entirely.tells you exactly who this war is really for. I am demanding accountability from President Trump, Marco Rubio, and Pete Hegseth for launching a military operation without congressional authorization and with no plan for what comes next.
America cannot be dragged into another forever war. I will not stay silent while this administration risks American lives for oil and political gain.

What you can do: Speak up against unauthorized wars. Contact your representatives and tell them you oppose military action taken without congressional approval and without a clear plan. Stay informed and push for transparency before more lives are put at risk. The American people deserve leaders who put service members first and refuse to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Trump, Rubio, and Hegseth are going directly against the will of the people. They’re starting an illegal war to benefit their donors. They want to spend our nation’s blood and treasure on making themselves even richer, while health care costs skyrocket and everyday people are struggling to get by. And they think we’ll do nothing about it.

They’re wrong. Their actions are unpopular, and the patriotic majority is speaking out. We can win this fight, and we will.
