A University of Washington researcher publicly advocated violence against a school choice advocate.
Mara Maughan ([link removed]) , a researcher at the University of Washington, posted a comment online referencing the murder of Charlie Kirk and directing it toward school choice advocate Corey DeAngelis. The message was explicit, intentional, and impossible to dismiss as a misunderstanding.
After the comment was discovered, it was deleted. Maughan’s social media page was taken offline. The University of Washington has offered no public explanation.
To ensure the record is preserved, Accuracy in Media has secured MaraMaughan.com ([link removed]) , where documentation related to this incident is publicly available.
This incident does not stand alone. Pro-Hamas radicals at the University of Washington previously occupied campus buildings, caused more than one million dollars in damage, and sold merchandise glorifying terrorists and the October 7 attacks. Accountability has been selective, inconsistent, and in some cases entirely absent.
When a university employee suggests violence and the institution responds with silence, that silence becomes complicity.
That is why action matters. Visit UWPromotesMurder.com ([link removed]) and send one message to the prosecuting attorney and UW trustees demanding accountability for anyone who promotes or encourages violence.
Public universities do not get to decide which forms of extremism are acceptable. If officials refuse to act, public pressure is the only mechanism left to force a response.
