John,
Last year, Texas public school boards across the state voted on whether to adopt Bluebonnet Learning, a state-developed reading curriculum infused with stories from the Bible. In a 2024 analysis, we found that the curriculum overwhelmingly emphasizes the Bible over other religious texts [[link removed]] and subtly portrays Christian faith claims as true in ways that verge on proselytizing to students.
To better understand local response to the Bible-infused curriculum, we tracked adoption and implementation in the 100 largest school districts in Texas. Read about our findings in our new report. [tfn.org/bluebonnet]

🍎 WHAT THE DATA TELLS US [tfn.org/bluebonnet] 📚
Despite the state attaching financial incentives to its adoption, the Bible-infused curriculum proved to be a failure.
* 83 of the 100 school districts TFN tracked decisively rejected the curriculum.
* Many districts that did vote to adopt it were slow to follow through on implementing it for the school year.
This is because you took action, John. Time and time again, TFN and concerned Texans like you have shown up to fight the far right's attempts to insert religion where it doesn't belong. Community action is powerful! ✊

From allowing unqualified chaplains to serve as school counselors, to forcing the Ten Commandments into every classroom in the state, to funneling billions of public dollars into private religious schools, our state's elected officials too often use their position to advance their extreme agenda. But we've proven that our community advocacy works, and we'll never stop.
Thank you for being with us in this fight. Whether you join our Public Education Leadership Program [[link removed]] , sign up for alerts from our Teach the Truth Coalition [[link removed]] , help elect reasonable Texans to the SBOE and local school boards [[link removed]] , or donate to fuel our public education advocacy [[link removed]] , you are a part of building a future where Texas children receive the factual, unbiased, high-quality education that they deserve.
In community,
