Hey John, I hope
you have a minute to read more about my story. [ [link removed] ]If you’re in a rush and
still want to support our campaign for Congress please, feel free to chip
in anything you can now and come back to read this later.
I grew up in a working-class immigrant family in Los Angeles. When I was
just a kid, my dad was deported. Overnight, my mom had to raise us on her
own while working two jobs just to keep food on the table and a roof over
our heads.

It wasn’t easy, and honestly, there were days it felt impossible. But my
mom never gave up on us. She showed me that resilience and sacrifice are
the quiet strengths of working people everywhere.
I carried that lesson with me as I worked my way through school. I knew
education could open doors, even as I watched the people around me
continue to struggle with skyrocketing rent, low wages, and a healthcare
system that seemed rigged against us.
And I still carry that burden and that lesson with me. I’m still
working-class. I work two jobs to be able to support myself and my
family.
I know the truth: my family’s story is not rare, and it’s not an
exception. It’s the lived reality of millions of people in CA-34 and
across this country.
There are a lot of folks in Highland Park, and across LA who are doing
anything that they can to survive. They’re taking any job they can, behind
the scenes, without a word of thanks. It’s a grueling way to live and it
takes a lot of grit.
Organizing and service are everything to me. It’s what I’ve devoted my
life to. I know, families like mine, families who sacrifice and hustle and
hold it all together through impossible odds, deserve more than just
making ends meet.
We deserve dignity.
And yet, too often, our government tells us we’re asking for too much.
That our lives, our health, and our futures aren’t worth the investment.
They tell us we’re not even human, that we don’t even deserve rights.
John, I’m
fighting for a future where:
* Housing is a human right, and no family is forced into homelessness
because of greed;
* Every person has access to healthcare, no premiums, no copays, no
exclusions. Because care is a right, not a privilege;
* Working people earn real economic security through living wages,
guaranteed family leave, and support for caregivers;
* And our communities are prioritized in climate action, with good union
jobs, clean air, and investments that protect our neighborhoods for
generations to come.
That’s the world I want to live in. But I can’t do it without you.
[ [link removed] ]If you believe in this vision, I’m asking you to chip in whatever you
can today. Together, we can build the kind of future our families deserve.
