2026 is off to a horrendous start.

Trump invaded Venezuela and kidnapped their president, threatened to do the same in Cuba, Mexico, and Columbia, it was reported he ordered military brass to draw up a plan to invade Greenland, just today threatened to bomb Iran, is prosecuting Jerome Powell to take control of the independent Federal Reserve, and is covering up the murder of Renee Good in Minnesota by an ICE agent.

And it’s only been 13 days into the New Year.

We desperately need a Congress who will step in and put the clamps on Trump’s insanity to prevent more foreign wars, investigate and prosecute his administration's crimes, and keep the economy from cratering.

And there is good news, bad news on that front. 

The good news is that Democrats have an opportunity to take back Congress this year. 

The bad news is...

The chance for Democrats to pump the brakes on Trump’s insanity before this country crashes and burns is in major jeopardy.

The court is expected to issue a decision on a key portion of the Voting Rights Act any day now, and if they strike down the law, it will give Republicans a significant advantage to keep control of the House for decades to come.

But there is still hope, if Democrats fight back and redraw districts of their own, they can swing the math back in favor of Democrats and prevent MAGA from locking in one party rule regardless of how the Supreme Court rules.
