Support For Arizona’s “Open For Learning” Plan
This week, Governor Ducey announced additional resources, flexibility and clarity for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Education and community leaders across Arizona voiced their support for the plan. 
Phoenix Business Journal: Ducey Investing $440M In Federal Funds To Help K-12 Public Schools Open In Arizona
"Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is kicking in $440 million in federal funding to help Arizona's K-12 public schools begin the 2020-2021 academic school year. Called Arizona: Open for Learning, the back-to-school plan requires that schools provide on-site learning and support services for students who need a place to learn in order to qualify for the funding."
COVID-19 Testing
The Arizona Department of Health Services has partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide 5,000 free COVID-19 tests a day. The tests are available through this Tuesday at two sites: South Mountain Park, 10919 S. Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85042, and Maryvale High School, 3415 N 59th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85033.

Governor Ducey Announces Statewide Campaign To Promote Mask Use Developed In Partnership With Arizona Advertising Agencies
This first-of-its-kind collaboration features creative concepts in English and Spanish developed by Arizona’s leaders in advertising supported by $3 million from the Governor’s Office for distribution across media platforms statewide.
Governor Ducey Issues Executive Order Improving Voting Safety, Staffing
Governor Doug Ducey this week issued an Executive Order to bolster the election efforts of Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and election officials across the state by making available additional state assets. The order instructs ADOA to identify State-owned facilities to be utilized as voting locations and to assist counties in providing PPE and other equipment necessary to allow safe hygiene practices when voting. 
Governor Ducey Announces $975,000 From AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund To Support Homeless Arizonans
Governor Ducey this week announced $975,000 from the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund has been allocated to 12 organizations in Arizona that provide shelter for those experiencing homelessness. The funding will support efforts to provide food for those utilizing shelters, locate alternative housing to maintain social distancing among the homeless population, and more. 
Governor Ducey Issues Executive Order To Further Protect Public Health
Governor Ducey this week extended an executive order pausing operations on gyms, bars, nightclubs, movie theaters, water parks, and tubing. The order also prohibits large events and enables local law authorities to take immediate enforcement action to ensure compliance with the order. 
Governor Ducey Provides Recommendations On Congressional COVID-19 Relief Package
The Governor requested an extension of the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, which is set to expire this month. In addition to discussing unemployment assistance, the Governor also urged support for utility assistance for low-income families, requested an extension for Arizona’s tribal partners to expend CARES Act dollars, and reiterated the need for liability protection for health care workers, businesses and K-12 and higher education. 
Ninth Circuit Court Rules In Favor Of Prop 123; Vacates U.S. District Court Decision
This week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit overturned a U.S. District Court decision related to Proposition 123. The decision from the 9th Circuit upholds Arizona’s actions in passing Prop 123 and the decision by Arizona voters to add billions of dollars to K-12 public schools over ten years.
