Dear John,
The Trump administration’s U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is rolling back federal fuel economy standards for new cars and trucks, and it is asking for public comments right now.
This proposal would undo years of progress in making more fuel-efficient vehicles, protecting clean air, and slowing climate change.
John , will you submit a comment opposed to ending common-sense fuel economy standards that reduce oil consumption and pollution and save Americans money at the pump? [[link removed]]

These standards, known as Corporate Average Fuel Economy or CAFE standards, cut pollution, save drivers money at the pump, and ensure automakers build better, more efficient vehicles.
More efficient vehicles reduce gas costs over the life of a car, often saving drivers thousands of dollars. Rolling back these standards means higher fuel bills, more oil use, and more pollution.
Transportation is the largest source of climate pollution in the United States, and tailpipe emissions worsen smog and public health, especially in communities already overburdened by pollution. For decades, CAFE standards have cut oil consumption, reduced climate and air pollution, and pushed automakers to innovate.
Submit your public comment today and urge the Department of Transportation to keep strong fuel economy standards in place. [[link removed]]
