Yesterday, Governor Katie Hobbs delivered her State of the State address.
While it was largely in line with past years, one thing clearly stood out: a strong focus on affordability.
This included proposals ranging from tax cuts for middle-class families to expanded affordable housing programs.
And there’s one thing we know for certain: Democrats have learned an important lesson when it comes to messaging voters.
In 2024, Democrats focused too heavily on abstract issues and purely anti-Trump messaging, rather than the pocketbook issues that so many voters care about. The result is the dangerous Trump administration we’re now facing.
But Arizona Democrats now know what to talk about and, more importantly, what voters want their elected officials to work on: affordability and the economy.
Now we have the messaging. The next step is gathering the resources, especially for Governor Hobbs’ re-election campaign.
She will be facing a Republican like Andy Biggs who has made extreme statements such as, “we can eliminate the courts.” He is also a golden boy of Turning Point USA: the far-right extremist organization we all know and love (sarcasm intended).
The stakes are high. We cannot afford to slip up!
Maricopa County is home to 65% of Arizona’s registered voters, and Governor Hobbs would not have won in 2022 without winning Maricopa County.
Friend, if you can, please donate today to invest in our Governor Hobbs 2026 re-election program so we can ensure Arizona remains in good hands beyond 2026.
This program will be solely dedicated to her re-election bid and frankly, it has to be. We cannot afford to let her lose.
