The Spokesman-Review: Landmark conservation bill with big implications for Inland Northwest passes
House, heads to president for signature

"Help is on the way for America's neglected national parks after the House of
Representatives on Wednesday passed a landmark conservation package to address a
nearly $20 billion maintenance backlog on public lands and pour $900 million a
year into a fund used to maintain and acquire new land for parks..."

The Seattle Times: Washington state expected to get millions more for parks, forests as Congress
approves conservation bill

"The economic value of the outdoor economy helped generate the bipartisan
support needed for the legislation, especially among lawmakers who already have
large amounts of public land in their districts, or who had favored energy
development and other land uses over open space and outdoor recreation, Sen.
Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., said in an interview Tuesday."

You've been with me every step of the way, pushing for permanent funding for the
LWCF. Now, help me get it over the finish line. Add your name to my call for President
Trump to sign this bill and protect our public lands and our economy!

Subject: BREAKING: Public Lands Bill Passes House

Friend --

Yesterday, the House voted to pass the historic Great American Outdoors Act
to permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) at its fully
authorized level of $900 million per year.

I am proud to have championed this bill while it was in the Senate. Not only
does the LWCF need this funding to continue protecting our beautiful public
lands -- it does so at no cost to the taxpayer. The funding comes from offshore
oil and gas royalties, while also supporting an outdoor recreation economy that
generates more than $887 billion in consumer spending annually AND maintains 7.6
million jobs across the country.

But this is far from over. We know that this administration has a history of slashing public land
protections and rolling back environmental protections.

I need your help to get this important bill over the finish line. Tell President Trump
to sign the Great American Outdoors Act to protect both our public lands and our economy.

While Americans are eager to get outdoors in open spaces, there is an atrocious
backlog of necessary maintenance projects for our public lands. In addition to
providing $900 million in funding to the LWCF every year, this bill will also
provide $9.5 billion to help us take care of long-overdue investments in our
shared public lands, while providing a big boost to the multi-billion dollar
outdoor recreation economy and the millions of jobs it supports.

I have been working hard throughout my career in the Senate to pass bipartisan
laws just like this -- laws that protect our environment and the outdoor spaces
we all enjoy while boosting our economy. Now, I need your help to get the job done.

Send a message to the president: Add your name to tell him to sign the Great American Outdoors Act.
