In Ukraine, multiple years of bombardments have destroyed farm fields. In Sudan, crops have withered away due to drought and conflict. In Gaza, innocent civilians have limited access to food aid and relief.

Around the world, a staggering 318 million people face acute hunger driven by conflict and climate change.

Monthly giving is one of the most powerful ways to show up for families facing food shortages, closed doors to opportunity, and nights without shelter. It allows us to be there not just in moments of crisis, but in the long stretch of recovery.

And right now, your first month’s gift will be matched 12X, thanks to generous donors, to go 12X as far for people in need. Will you start a monthly gift today?

Did you know these five key facts about global hunger?
1 in 11 people worldwide are going hungry. Despite the world producing enough food to feed everyone on the planet, people cannot put food on the table because it is inaccessible due to war, extreme weather, and food waste.

Conflict is the primary driver of hunger right now. When war breaks out, farmers do not get the opportunity to plant. Business owners cannot import food. Innocent families are left without food for long periods of time.

Humanitarian aid cuts make it more difficult to reach people suffering from hunger. Last year’s decision to slash global humanitarian aid funding has been devastating for people’s survival. For example, Mercy Corps was forced to terminate some of our programs in Sudan that provided life-saving assistance to people facing severe hunger, including children.

Hundreds of thousands of people are facing famine, while millions face severe food insecurity. Currently, famine has been declared in the Gaza Strip and northern Sudan. Violent conflict is preventing food from reaching families, putting them at risk of starving to death.

It can take years for communities to recover from severe hunger. That’s why Mercy Corps doesn’t just deliver urgent relief that families desperately need — we also work with communities to rebuild infrastructure, find solutions to irrigation challenges, train farmers on planting more resilient crops, help entrepreneurs expand their businesses, and develop other long-term solutions to food insecurity.
As a monthly donor, you can help ensure families have the sustained support they need to recover from crisis. And your first month’s gift today will be matched 12X to make a bigger impact.

Will you become a Partner In Possibility today to create a lasting difference for families facing hunger around the globe?

Thank you for being a part of our humanitarian community.
