Email from Rep. Mann Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. I am back in Washington, DC for a week of legislative activity and committee work. If you would like more information on what I am working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov The Week Ahead The House of Representatives has a full week of legislative activity ahead to enforce the rule of law and appropriate funding for critical government programs. Yesterday, we passed a slate of bills that keep our children safe and hold online predators and sexual abusers accountable for their crimes. Later this week, we will be voting on a FY26 appropriations package that provides funding for Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs. House Republicans have already passed six Appropriations bills, and these two bills are just another example of our majorities bringing Congress back to fiscal responsibility. Meetings in the Office Growth Energy City of Hays Pittsburg State University Kansas Hospital Association Laying Out My 2026 Priorities I spoke on the House Floor to mark the start of the second session of the 119th Congress. A new year brings new opportunities, but the mission remains the same. Kansans sent me to Washington to deliver results, not political noise, and that’s exactly what I intend to keep doing. Over the past year, we’ve made real progress: cutting taxes for working families, strengthening American energy production, pushing back against harmful regulations, and fighting for a stronger farm safety net. But there is more work ahead. In this second session, I’ll continue following through on Kansans' priorities—starting with passing a fiscally responsible Farm Bill, reducing costs for families and small businesses, and protecting taxpayer dollars. Kansans expect accountability, common sense, and hard work from their elected leaders. I’m here to do exactly that. Funding the Government Responsibly Kansans sent me to Washington to steward taxpayer dollars and ensure fiscal responsibility in Congress. Last week, the House passed H.R. 6938, a three-bill appropriations package that advances conservative priorities while cutting wasteful spending. These bills strengthen law enforcement, promote national security, protect Second Amendment rights, support reliable energy production, and invest in critical water infrastructure—all while spending less than we would under another continuing resolution. Every appropriations bill passed puts us another step closer to getting our fiscal house back in order. Lowering Housing Costs The House of Representatives passed the Affordable HOMES Act last Friday to help bring down housing costs and make homeownership more attainable for working families. Under President Biden, housing costs soared, mortgage rates hit record highs, and rent became unaffordable for too many Americans. House Republicans are taking action to reverse that trend. This bill cuts duplicative federal regulations that drive up the cost of manufactured housing and removes barriers that prevent communities from building more homes. It’s a step toward restoring affordability, expanding housing supply, and helping more families achieve the American dream. Celebrating National Milk Day This past Sunday we celebrated National Milk Day, an opportunity to recognize the nutritional benefits of milk and the vital role dairy farmers play in Kansas and across the country. I’m proud to support our dairy producers and the work they do to strengthen rural communities and provide for American families. Earlier this year, the House passed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, a bill I was proud to cosponsor. This legislation gives parents and schools the option to serve whole and 2% milk as part of school meals. It is a meaningful win for child nutrition, parental choice, and Kansas agriculture.
