The Governor's Office of Small Business Assistance and the Business Permit Office assist small and medium Texas businesses through entrepreneurial support, education and technical assistance. Many specific business activities require permits or licenses, this handy tool aims to guide entrepreneurs toward the appropriate permitting needs for their specific business type and offers contact information to the necessary agencies to obtain such licenses. 

Please note: It is also important to ensure all permitting requirements are additionally met at the local level. You can find out about these requirements by contacting your local county and city government.
