A Historic Win: Muslim American Heritage Month Declared in New York
Dear Friends:
January is now officially recognized [[link removed]] as Muslim American Heritage Month in New York State. This milestone became a reality through consistent engagement between Emgage Action and Governor Kathy Hochul. We thank all the of Muslim leaders, organizers, and partners across the state who joined us in this effort. Governor Kathy Hochul responded by issuing New York’s first-ever statewide proclamation recognizing the history, contributions, and impact of Muslim Americans.”
To celebrate the month, on January 2 the Governor had sixteen state landmarks across New York illuminated in green, including One World Trade Center, Niagara Falls, Grand Central Terminal, and the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge—making our community visible across the state.
