** Per legislation, the Maine Department of Energy Resources and the Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future are currently accepting public comments on a draft report ([link removed]) outlining the potential design options for home energy navigator and coaching pilot programs for Maine.
Energy coaches provide community-based assistance to households, helping them understand and address barriers to energy efficient technology adoption, learn about available grants and other incentives, and review and analyze contractor recommendations. While there is no funding currently available, this draft report was designed with input from stakeholders in coordination with Efficiency Maine Trust, MaineHousing, and the Maine Office of Community Affairs pursuant to Resolves 2025, Ch. 86 ([link removed]) .
