I want to tell you about someone I worked with in the trenches of the gun
violence prevention movement, who’s now running to be the youngest member
of the Maryland legislature: Matt Post.

I’m going to share more about Matt below, but if you’re ready to support

At March For Our Lives, Matt started our legal team, fighting the gun
lobby in courts across the country as a champion for common-sense gun
safety laws. We worked side by side to defend universal background checks,
bans on open carry on college campuses, and getting 3D printed guns off
our streets.

As long as I’ve known Matt, he’s been fighting for a better Maryland. He
fought for public schools as a member of his Board of Education and today
he works as a labor attorney for the Maryland teachers’ union, standing up
for the pay and dignity of teachers, bus drivers, and school staff.

Now, Matt is running to bring that same urgency to the Maryland statehouse
and represent his hometown. And Leaders We Deserve is proud to be
endorsing him.

But the insiders in Maryland are watching his race closely and
skeptically. Can a Gen-Z candidate build a winning campaign without taking
a cent from corporations?

We need legislators who understand what it means to grow up in underfunded
classrooms under the constant threat of gun violence. We need leaders who
refuse to sit by while another generation watches the sea levels rise,
housing become unaffordable, and their rights rolled back.

That future won’t build itself. It’s going to take Americans from every
generation coming together. And it starts with races like this one. I’m
grateful to be in this fight with leaders like Matt — and supporters like
you.
