This can't wait, John: The Postal Service just announced major service changes that could slow down mail delivery. Unless things turn around quickly, they're even at risk of running out of money altogether and putting nearly 600,000 postal workers out of work, including in xxxxxx.
For a lot of folks across New Mexico - and across the nation - there are no other options if the Postal Service goes under. Private companies just won't deliver to rural zip codes where they can't turn a profit.
And with folks staying home to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, this is an issue that's going to affect all of us, no matter what zip code we live in. Come November, we have to have a reliable system for people to safely vote by mail in the most consequential elections of our lifetimes.
That's why I've added my name to this petition calling for federal funding to save the Postal Service, and I hope you'll add yours, too. I'm asking 500 people to join before midnight tonight: Sign the petition to save the U.S. Postal Service!
