John, we wouldn’t reach out again if it weren’t so important.
Last Thursday, the Senate voted to advance the War Powers Resolution that would block Trump from using military force in Venezuela without congressional approval.
This is a significant step forward, but the fight is far from over. The full Senate vote could happen any day now, and then it moves to the House. Your voice matters at every stage of this fight.
Over 2,500 JanePAC supporters have sent letters demanding Congress pass the War Powers Resolution and stop Trump’s war for oil in Venezuela, [[link removed]] but Congress hasn’t acted yet, and we need your voice in this fight.
This resolution is about drawing a clear line: no wars for oil, no unchecked executive power, no more fossil fuel greed disguised as foreign policy.
We are incredibly grateful for the thousands of supporters who have already signed on — your voices are making a real difference. Now let's keep the pressure going.
It only takes 2 minutes to send a message to Congress before it's too late. [[link removed]]

John — remember when Donald Trump promised Big Oil executives a “great deal” if they poured $1 billion into his campaign? What happened this weekend was proof he’s making good on that promise.

Hours after the U.S. military carried out strikes in Venezuela and forcibly removed its president, Trump announced that the U.S. would “run the country” and take control of Venezuela’s oil.
Without permission from Congress, without international approval, and without any public plan, Trump unilaterally ordered military action, seized a foreign head of state, and openly declared his intention to control another nation’s resources.
Let that sink in.
He wants U.S. oil companies to move in, “spend billions of dollars” to rebuild Venezuela's oil infrastructure, and start profiting from the country's resources. He even suggested deploying American troops — without asking Congress — to protect these corporate interests and “ get the oil flowing. ”
Jane Fonda always says, we owe it to our children and their children to demand better, John. Ending our dependence on oil is part of that responsibility. Fossil fuels are making people sick, releasing toxic chemicals like dioxins, benzene, and naphthalene into our air, our water, and our food. What’s unfolding now is the inevitable result of fossil fuel greed combined with unchecked executive power and reckless militarism.
This moment calls for restraint, diplomacy, and level-headed leadership. Since none of those qualities exist in the White House at this time, we must rely on Congress to act.
The power to declare war belongs to Congress. Not the president. Not the Pentagon. Not fossil fuel executives whispering in the Oval Office.
That’s why the U.S. Senate is preparing to vote on a War Powers Resolution that would force Trump to seek congressional approval before escalating further attacks on Venezuela.
This vote could happen any day, and your representative needs to hear from you right now, John. Click here to tell your Congressperson to help us end Trump's war-mongering by passing the War Powers Resolution >>> [[link removed]]
