In the aftermath of last week’s strikes on Venezuela and kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro I gave the NH Journal, a conservative publication in New Hampshire, a quote on where I stood. I told them exactly what I’ve been telling my supporters since the morning after the strikes: that the attacks were unjustified, not supported by the law, and driven by greed for oil.

It is important that liberals and conservatives alike hear and understand this. If we don’t tell them who else will?

In response, I received backlash – some in the Democratic Party establishment don’t want us to engage outside of our tent. Here is what I said in response. 

Remarking on our exchange, the New Hampshire Union Leader newspaper, called me: “a non-party establishment maverick.” If telling conservative and liberal voters alike that the Venezuela strikes were wrong and that makes me part of the non-party establishment, then sign me up. 

MAGA knows that our populist politics pose an existential threat to their strategy for reclaiming NH-01 in 2026. Its why they have been relentless in their attacks against me since day 1.
