If this copper mine goes forward, 30 million tons of toxic mine waste would be dumped into the fjord, devastating marine life and local fisheries. Norway is one of the few countries in the world that still approves the harmful practice of disposing of marine mine waste. This would be a huge mistake. Copper is necessary for renewable energy infrastructure, and we must move quickly to phase out fossil fuels—but not like this, not by destroying critical ecosystems or denying Indigenous Peoples’ rights. The Sámi deserve the right to give—or withhold—their Free, Prior, and Informed Consent. Tell Hartree Partners it’s not too late to divest from the Nussir mining project. Sign this petition now to stand up against environmental destruction and Indigenous Peoples’ rights violations in Repparfjord. In solidarity, Ellen Moore Mining Program Director, Earthworks
