Hi there. I hope you’re taking care of yourself amidst the maelstrom of news.

Any one of the tragedies that unfolded over the last week would be enough to knock the wind out of us. And I know that especially after the week we’ve had, it feels impossible to have faith in our democracy.

Now more than ever, I think a lot of folks are feeling like they’re left voiceless to an administration that blatantly disregards the rule of law at home and abroad.

I get it.

But if history has taught us one thing, it’s that the power of the people will prevail. That’s why we have to keep fighting, especially when it feels the hardest.

This November, every single statewide office is open for election, from the governor to our secretary of state.

That means we have a rare opportunity to usher in a brand new era for Ohioans — one that restores trust and transparency to our democracy and one that expands the table for those of us who have been left out for too long.

The primary responsibility of our Secretary of State is to do exactly that: to be an unwavering advocate for voters, and to open up the process to ensure that every day Ohioans understand how our democracy works so that they can get more involved, not pushed to the sidelines.

Friend, I know you’re tired. I know that change can feel insurmountable. I’m ready to lead the charge, but I can’t do it alone.

If you’re able to make a contribution to help us get one step closer, I would greatly appreciate your support — you can donate here. ([link removed])

But even more importantly, I’m asking for your time. Doomscrolling only makes us feel more helpless, but actually getting involved with a cause or candidate you support, connecting with other like-minded activists, and creating community is the most powerful way we can build our resistance.

Our campaign has countless opportunities to get involved. Help us be a part of the solution and sign up for a chance to get your boots on the ground — you’ll feel better after, I promise. ([link removed])

We have a lot of rebuilding to do. And yes, we have a lot of trust to win back.

But I’m ready to fight for us. And I know you are too.

Keep the faith. 💚

Allison
