Save The Waves Film Festival is back for 2026 and the submission window is now open to all filmmakers.

Are you a creator with a film about surfing, the ocean, outdoor adventure, environmentalism, or coastal conservation? We’re now accepting entries for our 2026 program. Open to amateurs and professionals alike.

What Is Save The Waves Film Festival?

Save The Waves Film Festival (STWFF) is a global film tour and fundraiser. hosted by nonprofit Save The Waves Coalition.

Since its creation in 2008, STWFF features inspiring nonfiction and documentary films on surf and water sports, travel and adventure, plus conservation and climate.

The 2025 film festival tour screened at 50+ global locations, including some notable surf locations such as Santa Cruz, Gold Coast, Puerto Escondido, Ericeira, Las Flores, Nosara and many more.

The film festival follows our mission and belief to protect surf ecosystems.
