John,
My name is Edwin Torres, Network Manager of Immigrant Defense Network. I
am writing to say thank you, and to ask you to stay in this fight.
Last week, Immigrant Defense Network — a network of 100+ immigrant, labor,
legal, faith, and community groups defending constitutional rights across
Minnesota — briefed allies nationwide on what’s unfolding here. We’ve been
on the frontlines since ICE agents killed Renee Good in Minneapolis. We
were here that day, and we are still here, doing the work.
For weeks now, our focus had to be on protecting our communities and
organizing on the ground as ICE raids surged and violence escalated. Last
week, we asked our allies to step in so we could stay where we were needed
most.
Women’s March answered.
Over the past 72 hours, Women’s March raised critical funds to support our
work while we mobilized in the streets to confront ICE violence and defend
our neighbors. That support mattered. It allowed us to keep going.
Thank you.
Now we are asking you to stay in this fight.
Keep fighting to honor Renee Good.
Keep fighting for freedom.
Keep fighting for our neighbors who have been kidnapped, assaulted, and
killed, including those who lost their lives inside ICE detention.
We need you with us.
Keep fighting for a Free America.
