Today is Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib’s birthday. She’s a true fighter for
the people of Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, and I’m honored to
call her my friend.

DFA was proud to endorse Rashida when she won this seat in 2018. And we’re
proud to fight for her again in 2020. That’s because, in less than two
years in Congress, Rashida has led on every single progressive issue.

Rashida was one of the first members of Congress to call for the
impeachment of President Trump. She has led the fight to enact Medicare
for All, made the case for the Green New Deal, and led the fight for real
criminal justice reform.

But now, Rashida is facing a serious primary challenge from the
establishment. Her primary is a little over a week away, and her opponent
is ramping up the attacks.

Rashida’s counting on grassroots support to beat back this challenge and
continue leading the fight for progressive change in Congress.

On Rashida’s birthday, let’s show her we’re all in for the fight to win
