Dear Friend of Israel,
This week, both chambers of Congress adopted their respective versions of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021, including significant pro-Israel provisions that AIPAC has lobbied for that will help keep America strong and Israel safe.
This is a very important step in the legislative process to fund critical U.S.-Israel cooperative spending for FY 2021 and another important step forward.
In the House bill, provisions include:
-
$500 million for U.S.-Israel missile defense cooperation
- The U.S.-Israel PTSD Collaborative Research ActIn the Senate bill, provisions include:
- $500 million for U.S.-Israel missile defense cooperation
-

The U.S.-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act
- The U.S.-Israel Military Capability Act
- A new grant program to strengthen U.S.-Israel health cooperation to combat COVID-19
AIPAC applauds both chambers of Congress for supporting these and other important bipartisan pro-Israel initiatives, and we will continue our work to ensure they are included in the final NDAA.

Iran Threatens Strike Against America
Iran’s supreme leader has once again

threatened to attack Americans.
On Tuesday, Iran's Supreme Leader said that Iran will strike a reciprocal blow against America for the killing of the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps-Quds Force—the organization responsible for coordinating the regime’s terror campaign around the world—Qassem Soleimani.
The world's leading sponsor of terrorism should not be allowed access to more advanced weapons.

20th Anniversary of the Camp David Summit
Twenty years ago tomorrow, President Clinton’s Camp David Summit to promote peace between Israelis and Palestinians ended.
As President Clinton later wrote: "[Palestinian leader] Arafat’s rejection of my proposal after [Israeli Prime Minister] Barak accepted it was an error of historic proportions."
Israel was willing to make major concessions, including withdrawing from land and forcibly removing its citizens in order to achieve peace. But Arafat rebuffed the offer and launched the worst wave of Palestinian terrorism in Israel’s history.
Since its founding, Israel has repeatedly demonstrated its willingness to negotiate with the Palestinians. Unfortunately, the Palestinian leadership has continually rejected Israel’s peace efforts.
It is time for Palestinian leaders to stop their rejectionism and rejoin Israel at the negotiating table.
