As Maine’s CDC Director, I led our state through the pandemic and delivered results for everyone. I also saw firsthand how we can get through tough times together with empathy, resilience, and vision.

I’ll bring those same values with me to Augusta to tackle big problems. But to do that, I need your help.

After being tapped by the Biden administration to serve as the second-in-command at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and following Trump’s election, my wife, Kara and I chose to return home to Maine. We adopted our German Shepherd, Fritz, and are so happy to be back.

I’m currently teaching the next generation of public health leaders at Colby College — but it’s time to step up again to navigate the challenges our state is facing.

We must fix housing, fund health care, feed kids, and fuel growth, while fighting back against the overreaches of the Trump administration. These challenges require a leader with a unique set of skills and a clear vision for how Mainers can build a better life.
