Can I let you in on a campaign secret, John?

Successful campaigns are built on early investment from a large number of supporters pitching in what they can, when they can. Donations earlier in the cycle allow us to train organizers, recruit volunteers, and reach voters wherever they are — whether it’s online or at their front door.

And we don’t need every donation to be big — we just need a strong coalition of supporters to chip in to help us meet our goals and get this campaign across the finish line. If folks skip out on donating to emails like this one, the gap in our funding widens and we risk falling behind and losing our hard-earned progress. That’s why I’m counting on your support right now: Will you chip in $5 (or any amount that works for you) today?

John, our work to reach voters in all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties is outpacing the online donations coming in — and that gap makes a real difference.

It ultimately means fewer people will hear our message, and that difference will be felt at the ballot box.

I don’t and will never expect you to chip in to every email that we send, but John, if everyone reading ignores this email, then we find ourselves behind with a huge fundraising gap.

We can only go as far as our grassroots team takes us. So I’m humbly asking for your support today:

Will you pitch in $5 right now to help us build a grassroots team with the momentum and resources to win?

Your donation of any amount really does add up: when dozens or hundreds of supporters give what they can, it means we can hire and train more organizers, schedule more volunteer shifts, and run the digital program that multiplies our door-knocking.

Thank you for everything you do,

Sara
