EmailTemplate-Responsive <[link removed]> Dear John??

One of the most important functions of Congress is to create and pass a
spending bill for our country for the upcoming year. This is exactly what we
have been working on in Washington for the past several weeks, and this week
the process wrapped up in the House of Representatives. Today, I want to give
you an update this Fiscal Year 2021 bill, as well as an amendment I introduced
and fought for to protect innocent lives.
Spending Bills

The Fiscal Year 2021 spending bills have been the focus of Washington for the
last two weeks. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I take my role in
shaping our nation?s spending incredibly seriously, because as a taxpayer, you
deserve a responsible and thoughtful plan from your government. Unfortunately,
I do not believe the spending bills put forth by House Democrats in the
Appropriations Committee this year lived up to that standard. However, I will
work to ensure that as this process continues and the House and Senate come
together to negotiate, a reasonable bill will be put together???????.

Defending Life

One of the legislative items I fought to have included in the Fiscal Year
2021 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations ?bill was an
amendment toprohibit D.C. from using tax dollars to fund abortion
<[link removed]>. To me, this is
common sense, taxpayers should not be subject to funding abortion, period. This
bill specifically allows the District of Columbia to use money from hardworking
tax payers for abortion providers, which I believe is disgraceful. Protecting
life at every turn is not only one of my top priorities in Congress and in
life, but it must be a top priority for our country. It saddens me that
Democrats do not work for or support defending the most vulnerable among us,
and this bill is proof.???????

Pro-Life Record

The amendment that I offered ultimately got voted down by Democrats in a
committee markup. However, I will continue to fight for this amendment because
I firmly believe in the Pro-Life cause and I will always be an unapologetic
about that stance. That?s why the Susan B. Anthony List has graded me with an
?A? when it comes to my Pro-Life record in Congress, and it?s why theTony
Perkins radio show
<[link removed]> invited me to
join them on-air to discuss my Pro-Life amendment last week.

Protecting the most vulnerable among us is something I have believed in my
entire life, and a few years ago I even wrote aboutwhy I am Pro-Life
<[link removed]>. I believe
this is one of the most important causes to fight for, and as your
representative I take my role in defending life as a great responsibility ? and
it?s one that will never end. Because at the end of the day there is no
argument that justifies stopping an innocent, human heartbeat.

?

???????????Sincerely,

???? <[link removed]>
