This week, Governor DeSantis announced a special session to redraw Florida’s congressional maps. Yes, they’re trying to rig this election midway through the process. And while this is wrong and we’re preparing to fight back, buried in that announcement was something important that works in our favor, and we need to move on it immediately. Because of changes to the petition rules to qualify for the ballot, we now have a real opening to lock in Richard’s name on the ballot fast. Here’s the bottom line:

We now need 2,564 petitions to qualify (down from 4,200+)
- Any registered Florida voter can sign. They do not need to live in FL-27

If we move quickly, we can qualify by petition in the next 30 days and show, early on, that this campaign has the organization and grassroots strength to win.
