Dear John,
On January 1, Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress let the Affordable Care Act tax credits that saved hardworking families thousands of dollars expire. Now, thousands of people in the Inland Empire are seeing their monthly insurance premiums skyrocket.
Despite Republicans’ refusal to address the health care crisis they created, House Democrats successfully forced a vote this week on legislation to reduce health insurance costs for hardworking people. By restoring and extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits for three more years, health care premiums will remain affordable for more than 1.7 million Californians and millions of Americans across the country.
I was proud to vote yes on this legislation. Now, we have a real path forward to restore this vital lifeline and reduce health insurance costs for hardworking people. It’s now up to Senate Republicans to join Democrats in sending this legislation to President Trump’s desk. The American people can’t afford any more delays.
As Democrats keep fighting for your health care, I want to hear from you:
Thanks,
Pete Aguilar
Member of Congress
