Friend,

This January may bring a sense of newness for some, but for many across
the globe, suffering remains constant. Hunger continues to persist in
regions across Gaza and Sudan.

In Gaza, harsh winter conditions have increased food insecurity and
deepened famine. In Sudan, violence has escalated, forcing families
already at risk of famine to flee with no safe options.

Mercy Corps is on the ground responding to the dire needs of families.
Amid the violence, restrictions, and compounding crises, our teams are
working tirelessly to ensure the survival of innocent civilians.

Please read on to learn
more about our emergency response efforts in Gaza and Sudan — [ [link removed] ]and to
help rush aid to families in Gaza, Sudan, and beyond, consider making your

Gaza

airstrikes destroyed his home.

In addition to famine and bombardment, Gaza is facing the harsh challenges
that come with winter. Families are enduring cold winds, heavy rains, and
freezing temperatures. Children are succumbing to hypothermia, and floods
are devastating makeshift tents, shelters, and remaining food supplies. At
least six children have died, while the collapse of damaged buildings has
killed at least 18 people.

To address hunger in the region, Mercy Corps is implementing home
gardening initiatives to help families access fresh produce. Our teams
also provided 520,00 liters of safe drinking water to displaced families
in December to meet their water, sanitation, and hygiene needs.

Mercy Corps has 14,000 hygiene kits, 8,140 sealing-off kits, and 500
winterized bedding sets prepositioned in Jordan and Egypt, ready to deploy
to Gaza once approved.

Sudan

The humanitarian crisis has spiraled in Sudan after more than 1,000 days
of conflict have pushed families into extreme hardship and hunger.

Fighting along key trade routes has cut families off from food, water, and
medicine, and what little remains is now priced far beyond reach for most
people.

Routes out of Kordofan are unsafe or completely blocked, leaving many
people trapped, hungry, and increasingly desperate.

Our teams on the ground, also terrified for their own families, remain
committed to responding to the needs of others. We’re providing lifesaving
aid in displacement camps, distributing cash assistance to
conflict-affected families, and calling for urgent diplomatic efforts to
end the conflict.

We
need your support to meet this increasingly difficult moment.

As one of our committed
supporters, your compassion can enable us to show up for those who need it
most. [ [link removed] ]Will you make your first gift today to deliver relief to
families in Gaza, Sudan, and other areas caught in crisis?
