It’s Peggy Flanagan.
It’s no secret that Minnesota has experienced unspeakable tragedy this week.
We have seen so much violence and loss this year, and the grief can be overwhelming.
ICE agents have descended in the thousands on Minnesota. They are kicking down doors, detaining U.S. citizens, and deploying chemical agents around our children at schools.
Minnesotans have responded with strength, empathy, and peaceful protest. I have seen our community unify around one clear message — ICE MUST leave Minnesota immediately, before more people are hurt.
In this moment, it is easy to feel helpless. But I’m writing today to say that there is hope.
There is hope in the thousands of Minnesotans who have shown up to peacefully protest. There is hope in the folks who have visited immigrant-owned businesses, who have signed up to take legal observer trainings.
I am mourning, but our community gives me hope. That hope powers my belief in a future where everyone is respected and cared for. I believe we can build an immigration system that treats everyone with respect and dignity. Where every person is seen and valued.
That’s why I’m running for US Senate. We deserve leaders who are genuinely ready to challenge the cruelty and chaos coming out of Donald Trump and Kristi Noem’s administration. I am ready — armed with hope and the support of my community.
Thank you,
Peggy
