Dear John,
This June, NOW will mark 60 years of organizing, resisting, and reshaping what is possible.
Sixty years ago, a small group of bold women gathered in a Washington, D.C. hotel room with a shared conviction: that equality was not something to wait for, it was something to demand. From that moment, the National Organization for Women grew into the largest grassroots feminist movement in the country, powered by people who refused to accept the status quo.
Today, NOW drives intersectional feminist activism across every state, advancing reproductive freedom, racial justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, and constitutional equality. Our generations of members have made remarkable progress for women and girls. |
That legacy belongs to you. |

|
For six decades, supporters like you have fueled this movement—showing up, speaking out, and refusing to back down when progress was on the line. Because of this collective action, doors opened. Voices were amplified. Laws were changed. Lives were transformed. |
As we enter this milestone year, I feel a deep responsibility and a profound honor to help carry this movement forward. I do so with immense gratitude for the women who built NOW before us, and with a clear focus on strengthening the path for those who will lead it next.
And yet, we know this moment calls for more.
We are facing a landscape where hard-won rights are under attack, economic inequities are widening, gender-based violence is rising, and democracy itself is being tested. This is not a time for nostalgia. It is a time for resolve.
We will be celebrating this milestone anniversary throughout 2026, and I’m hoping that dedicated supporters like you will help us kick off the commemoration with a gift of $25, $50, or more today. Your generosity will fuel grassroots action nationwide—ensuring NOW remains a bold, unapologetic force for change at a moment when it matters most.
