On Monday, the Georgia General Assembly will gavel in for the 2026 Legislative Session. It’s the second year of the biennial, but there is a clear and unmistakable backdrop that will affect everything that happens in that building: this is an election year. Democrats want to flip Georgia. Republicans are working to keep it. Every seat in the General Assembly – 236 of them, one of the largest legislatures in the world – will be on the ballot. So will all our constitutional offices, congressional seats, and a US Senate seat. We will be, unmistakably, the most watched state in the country in this mid-term cycle. |
Yet, as we prepare for session, I want to encourage our elected officials to: - Be strong. Just because the AJC might write about something doesn’t make it “controversial.” Georgians expect action, and they want conservative action. Protecting children from puberty blockers is strong and winning policy. Reforming education to remove sexual concepts, removing obscenity from libraries, and advancing the family unit is popular and good policy. Don’t punt on the session. Lead!
- Be mindful. As Georgians consider leadership of our state, they want to vote for those who care about what they care about. It’s imperative that we actively address “kitchen table” issues like jobs and, most importantly, affordability. Families are having a hard time making ends meet, putting food on the table, and living the American Dream. We have to be mindful of that and intentional about addressing these problems.
- Be bold. While Governor Kemp is in his last year, that does not mean we need to wait to tackle big challenges. Let’s look with vision and clarity on addressing big problems head on. Why have we not addressed our obscenity code since the 1970s, before the invention of the internet? How can we support DFCS and get every child into a loving home? What would it take to make Georgia #1 for how we value and care for our special needs community? Let’s think big, together!
In each of these areas, Frontline is here to support and partner with our government officials. Our team has been preparing since the last session gaveled out.
We’ve drafted bills, built an agenda, met with our allies, engaged the pastors, and prayed as we get ready to, Lord willing, pass policies that will bless our neighbor. For everyone receiving this email, I ask that you stay tuned and also join us in prayer. For those that feel led, we also ask that you consider a generous, tax-deductible gift to support our work this session.
