John,

As we work to replace Donald Trump with Joe Biden in the White House and take back control of the Senate this November, it’s also critical that we expand our Democratic House majority. It’s not enough to just hold onto the seats we have – we have the opportunity to flip multiple seats from red to blue and usher in a new generation of leaders, including a record number of women and people of color.

Two of those red to blue candidates are Candace Valenzuela and Sima Ladjevardian , both running in the key state of Texas.

Candace just won her primary runoff this July, and would be the first Afro-Latina representative in Congress if she defeats her Republican opponent, a current member of the Trump administration. As someone who grew up with a single mother and sometimes experienced homelessness only to go on to receive a full scholarship to college and become a teacher, Candace is ready to give the diverse 24th district a representative who knows firsthand the struggles of systemic poverty and racism, and she aims to be a voice for those who’ve gone unheard in Washington.

Sima is a Houston attorney, mother, cancer survivor, and an Iranian-American who escaped to the U.S. during the Iranian Revolution. Sima became a Democratic activist and decided to run for office to give everyone the American dream she experienced, and to give Texas’ 2nd district a representative who will fight for their health care – unlike her opponent Rep. Dan Crenshaw. Crenshaw has voted against the Affordable Care Act and legislation to lower prescription drug prices since he was elected in 2018.

Both Candace and Sima have real shots at flipping their seats from red to blue this November with enough grassroots support behind them. Will you split a contribution between our campaigns today to help us expand our Democratic majority in the House this November?

Together, we brought a Blue Wave to the polls in 2018 and elected the most diverse Congress this country has ever seen. Let’s do it again in 2020.

Thanks for all you do,

Adam
