Democrat,

Last night, the New Jersey Democratic State Committee held a virtual meeting to approve At-Large and Party Leader delegates for the Democratic National Convention. These delegates will join the District Delegate candidates who won their primary elections earlier this month to form New Jersey’s delegation to the convention. While we unfortunately will not be travelling together to Milwaukee to see Joe Biden accept our party’s nomination, nonetheless we will be active participants in the convention process and will make New Jersey’s voice heard.

As we continue to battle the COVID-19 crisis, the scope of New Jersey’s recovery from the dark days of March and April is becoming more and more clear. By making decisions based on science and data, and not on politics, Governor Murphy has led New Jersey forward and made our state among the safest places to be in the country right now. In fact, a new analysis from Vox shows that New Jersey is one of only three states that has met the criteria to reopen safely.

For up to date information regarding new cases and directives regarding coronavirus, visit the state’s dedicated COVID-19 Information Hub or follow Governor Murphy’s official pages on social media.

In 2018, Democrats rode a Blue Wave to take control of the House of Representatives in a stunning election night that ran right through New Jersey. We flipped four longtime Republican held districts and elected an 11-1 Democratic delegation that night for the first time in decades. But one Republican held on, and this year we are working to defeat Congressman Chris Smith with an excellent new leader in Stephanie Schmid. Meet Stephanie and hear about her extensive record of public service and her vision for the 4th District here:

You can learn more about Stephanie and support her campaign on her website. She’s taking on a 40 year incumbent (YES, 40 YEARS!), but with your support she can defeat Chris Smith and we can elect a former foreign services officer, human rights advocate, lawyer and someone who will fight for our families, our values, and our communities in Washington.

Thank you,

Chairman John Currie
