John,

While the opposition has spent the last few weeks bickering in a contested runoff, I have been working hard hitting the campaign trail to spread my vision for Mississippi out to every corner of the state. Here are just a few of the highlights:

I spent the day after the primary in Jackson. My priority was to be in a public school, talking to educators about the issues that matter -- fully funding our public schools, teacher pay raises, tuition-free community college, and expanding pre-K statewide.

Last week, I went to a local family-owned grocery store in Indianola to talk about my plan to provide tax relief to working families by cutting the sales tax on groceries in half. For too long, politicians in Mississippi have been focused on handing out tax giveaways to large, out-of-state corporations while leaving working folks out to dry. If the state can manage to give out more than $210 million per year in giveaways to out-of-state corporations, we can make it easier for working families to put food on the table.

November might feel far off, but it’s really just weeks away and we’re not taking a single day for granted. Our campaign has made it this far because of supporters like you who believe in our plan to make Mississippi a better place for all.

Can you contribute today so we can keep our momentum strong into the general election?

On to November,
Jim
