Since Donald Trump took office, ICE has been unleashed like a force of
terror on our streets, violently arresting people, raiding communities,
and leaving neighborhoods in chaos and fear. Their unchecked presence
spreads intimidation and violence at every turn, making clear that no one
is safe from their reach.
And now, the unthinkable has happened.
In Minnesota, Renee Nicole Good was recklessly shot multiple times and
killed by an ICE agent in her car. DHS claims that the ICE agent acted in
“self-defense,” but the video and eyewitness testimony show that this is a
bold-faced lie.
Leaders across the country warned that ICE’s unchecked escalation would
lead to tragedy — yet no one listened.
This administration has shown time and again that it does not care about
our safety, our families, or our neighborhoods. They will beat protesters,
terrorize observers, and even take innocent lives to push their
destructive agenda.
We cannot — and will not — stay silent. Children should be able to play
outside, families should be able to live without fear of being torn apart
or targeted, and neighbors should be able to walk their streets without
the constant threat of violence.
