Dear Friends,
Happy New Year. I hope you and your family had a safe and joyful holiday.
I am back on Capitol Hill working for you, and it has already been a full and busy week.
I have been working on many issues this week. Lowering healthcare costs, holding leaders accountable, and keeping our communities safe are just a few of the highlights.

Impeaching Secretary Noem
This week, an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen and mother of three children, in Minneapolis. This is not law and order—this is a reign of terror.
Secretary Kristi Noem has proven herself to be an incompetent and reckless leader who has let her agency run amok from Chicago to Charlotte to Los Angeles to Minneapolis. Her actions have violated the Constitution, destroyed families, and ended lives. What we are witnessing is not enforcement of the law but a complete breakdown of our democracy.
I refuse to stay silent while Secretary Noem obstructs Congress, ignores the rule of law, and unleashes violence in our communities. Breaking the law, violating public trust, and obstructing Congress are impeachable offenses.
I am introducing Articles of Impeachment against Secretary Noem. I told my constituents I would fight back against Trump’s agenda—and this is me fighting back.

Voted to pass the ACA Tax Credits

On Thursday evening, the House passed a bill to extend ACA tax credits for three years!
For months, House Democrats and I have been fighting to protect families from rising healthcare costs. Yesterday, seventeen Republicans joined us to do the right thing. The Senate MUST vote on this immediately.

Introduced new legislation
I introduced the SAFE Exit Act to address a dangerous gap in electric vehicle safety. Right now, there is no federal standard for electric vehicle doors, and in crashes or power failures, some electronic doors have trapped people inside their cars, contributing to at least 15 deaths linked to Tesla door failures.
My bill requires clear safety standards, easy-to-find manual door releases that work without power, and labeling so drivers, passengers, and first responders can act quickly in an emergency. As electric vehicles become more common, safety must come first. Innovation should never cost lives.
