Dear Neighbors,
I wanted to send you a quick update at the end of this very trying week to let you know that we’ll unfortunately have to cancel tomorrow’s Town Hall.
I know many of you were looking forward to it - I was as well - but always feel free to reach out to my office with any questions, comments, or ideas you may have to make our community and state better. I’ll also be sure to let you know once we’ve rescheduled.
Separately, I know it’s been an incredibly trying week for many of us in Minnesota, and I’ll just sign off with my thoughts on ICE’s rampage throughout our state:
I stand with those in Minneapolis and all Minnesotans impacted by ICE’s unlawful and violent actions.
Renee Good should be with her family today, but instead our state mourns.
ICE’s subsequent decision to no longer include state officials in the investigation of the incident is the latest in a long list of actions that do nothing to keep us safe, but instead only inflame tensions.
For the safety of all Minnesotans, ICE must cease operations in our communities and leave.
Sincerely,
Pete Johnson
State Representative
